Linder Partners with Plant City Career Academy

On January 17,th Linder Industrial Machinery was proud to partner with the Plant City Career Academy (PCCA) and QGS Development to host 90 local high school students from Plant City & Durant High Schools who are looking towards the next step after graduation. Students experienced an interactive facility tour of Linder’s Plant City branch operations and the corporate office. With the help of our business partner, QGS Development, students were able to witness live equipment demonstrations and network with industry experts.
The goal of PCCA’s Business Field Trip provides students the opportunity to visit thriving area businesses and to learn more about the employment and training opportunities available to them after graduation. Linder staff members served as tour guides and gave students an inside look into our business and the different career paths within the company. The equipment demo with QGS provided a look at the equipment, the different ways they can be used and how QGS partners with Linder in the construction industry.
Lunch was served at HCC’s Trinkle Center, where Plant City Mayor Rick Lott addressed students and spoke to them about the local work force, economy, and quality of life. One of the students that visited our facility, gave a testimonial saying, “I saw a lot of care for what they do there (Linder), and for the people that work there.”
The PCCA’s mission is to prepare and connect students to the great jobs readily available in the community. “It’s exciting to share with local youth the economic and social impact we are making in this community and our entire footprint. We recognize and hope that some of these very students may one day be a part of the Linder team,” said John Coughlin, Linder’s President & CEO.
